Fig, leaf, and milk: a fresh green scent with a milky base. One of the most recognizable green-fruit niche profiles. Light, close to the skin, ideal in heat. Longevity is weak and the price per millilitre is high.

Context

Philosykos is Diptyque’s fig reference: leaf, fruit, milk. It comes from the founders’ memory of a fig tree in a Greek garden. Perfumer Olivia Giacobetti is known for light compositions. The EDP is denser and longer than the EDT.

On skin

The opening is green fig leaf and bergamot, fresh and slightly bitter. After 30 minutes milky fig arrives with coconut and jasmine. Longevity is weak, 4 to 6 hours, 5 to 7 for the EDP, and projection stays close. In heat it is ideal. In the cold it disappears. It smells like a garden.

EDP and EDT

The EDT is lighter, gone sooner, and more transparent. The EDP is milkier, longer, and a little sweeter. For heat, the EDT. For fig as the subject, the EDP. Both are weak on longevity. That belongs to the composition, across batches.

Verdict

Good for summer and for people who like green and fresh. Wear a decant. Longevity is weak, and not everyone will pay €210 for 5 hours. Skip it if you need a scent that lasts, or if the season is cold. Buy the bottle once a decant has shown it is yours, and you can live with a respray.

Before a bottle

Ask for 2 to 10 ml. Wear it three times on your own skin. A blotter will not tell you what hour four smells like.
